Santa’s Secret Kingdom: The Airship

In collaboration with Lapland HK, ‘Santa’s Secret Kingdom’ is an immersive experience to visit Santa Claus in his magical airship, where Santa travels above to keep an eye on Hong Kong’s best-behaved children for his year-end gift delivery.

Children joining Santa’s Secret Kingdom will receive a personalised invitation from Santa to enjoy an immersive experience with his elves, including cookie decorating and cracker crafting, followed by special one-on-one time with Santa and a Christmas sing-a-long to complete this ultimate festive experience.

Meet Santa in the Island Shangri-La Lobby

Santa Claus will also be setting up his Reindeer and his sleigh in the hotel lobby from 7 to 26 December, where he will share captivating stories of his adventures in the North Pole. Families can enjoy an interactive experience with Santa where children will receive a surprise gift and capture a memorable photo moment with the man himself.

After one full year of experimenting, Chef Uwe Opocensky’s ultimate Roast Butterball Turkey is one he stands by. With a selection between 4kg and 6kg, this festive bird is reliable sourced in the US and prepared with a tried-and-true recipe developed by Chef Uwe himself. The golden-brown roasted turkey is an excellent addition to holiday parties and family gatherings.

“I have developed this recipe over my years in Hong Kong and I believe it is now perfect!” says Chef Uwe, “This recipe delivers the most beautiful turkey which is not dry. Island Shangri-La’s festive hamper highlights the best gourmet items to share. Eight different varieties of both Western and Chinese hampers are available throughout the holiday season. These include:

The Summer Palace Chinese Hampers (from HK$2,988 to HK$9,388) selection highlights the exclusive ingredients in Chinese cooking, such as X.O. Sauce from Summer Palace, premium dry seafood and aged tangerine peels, among many; while Western Hampers (from HK$2,688 to HK$5,988) showcase festive goodies accompanied by selected English tea, premium wine and Champagne.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Petrus by Chef Uwe Opocensky

Throughout December, Michelin-starred Chef Uwe Opocensky is looking forward to hosting daily festive lunches and dinners at 1-Michelin starred Restaurant Petrus, where his classic French Menus will reimagine traditional Christmas dishes with a gourmet, fine-dining twist.

For Christmas Eve, Petrus presents a “Night of Culinary Delight and Festive Elegance” with an 8-course dinner menu (HK$3,488) of Christmas-inspired dishes, including Chef Uwe’s tableside preparation of his Winter Wonderland Dessert. Highlights of the menu include Linguine with Sea Urchin as well the chef’s signature Spanish Red Prawn dish. There is an optional 5-glass wine pairing package available, ranging from HK$2,204 for sommelier-selected wines, to HK$4,000 for the iconic wine pairing option.

On Christmas Day, Chef Uwe prepares a 4-course (HK$1,588) family brunch style menu with starters presented in a festive gift box, Roast Butterball Turkey and trimmings as main, polished off with his signature Winter Wonderland Dessert. Optional beverage pairings are available from HK$400 to HK$800 per person. There will be live music entertainment from noon to 3:00pm, to bring added festive cheer.

For the evening, a 5-course dinner menu (HK$2,488) is available, starting with an Antilope 1858 Oyster, followed by Hokkaido Potatoes served with aged Caviar and Egg Yolk and a choice of main courses: Atlantic Turbot and Beef Calotte. A supplementary course of Chef Uwe’s iconic Spanish Red Prawn dish can be added for HK$738. Guests can enjoy these festive flavours with mulled wine served during dessert - and Santa Claus might just stop by for a memorable photo moment!

Lobster Bar & Grill - Traditional Christmas Feasts by Chef Cary Docherty

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for dinner at Lobster Bar, Chef Cary Docherty presents a Raw Seafood Bar (HK$1,688), with a luxurious line-up including Maison Perseus Oscietre Caviar, Raw Oysters andchilled Boston Lobster. Followed by Lobster Bisque or Pumpkin Soup, and a choice between delicious Christmas classics including Roast Turkey, Beef, Honey Ham or Dover Sole with all the trimmings for mains. The feast is rounded out by a selection of Chef Cary’s iconic indulgent desserts - Sticky Toffee Pudding, Pavlova or a Mont Blanc. On Christmas Day, a lunch option (without Raw Bar) at HK$1,088 per person with free-flow package is available.

On Boxing Day as well as every Sunday throughout the month of December, guests can enjoy a Sunday Roast brunch from HK$998 per person. Starting off with a choice between the luxurious Raw Seafood Bar or classic starters such as Country Terrine and Steak Tartare, followed by a choice of roast meat or seafood for main courses, finished with a choice between the best Whole Apple Tart Tatin and other Lobster Bar classics such as Chef Cary’s Pecan Pie or Banoffee Pie.

To add to the magic, the Lobster Bar Live Band will be playing Christmas classics throughout the festive period!
